How to assess Leadership Principles?
By self-assessing, employees give their own level of leadership skills mastering. This will serve as a basis for discussion during the YDR meeting with the manager. Employees will think about up to two Leadership Principles they estimate mastering and two others they would like to develop.
During the YDR meeting, managers will identify the Leadership Principles "mastered" and "to be developed by employees. These Leadership Principles will be the subject of follow-up in the employee's development.
Ask yourself the right questions to do this assessment: How did you end up with this solution? , What was your mindset in this situation? , What was the result? , How did you behave?
To self-assess Leadership Principles, employees can ask their managers (line and dotted line) and team members for the feedback. It is an important tool to develop the right Leadership Behaviors.
It is essential for a manager to have the complementarity of the Leadership Behaviors between the team members. Some employees have personal characteristics that favor certain Leadership Behaviors, others will more easily express other Leadership Behaviors.
