Before expanding the available travel options in Île-de-France, the Grand Paris Express is already keeping its promise to transport as many people to their workplaces as possible. In November, its worksites exceeded 3 million hours of work integration, giving hope to some 3,000 long-term unemployed people. This is a direct result of the clauses that Société du Grand Paris introduced into its public procurement contracts, which stipulate that 5 to 10% of total hours worked must be for people on work integration. Building the metro has become a springboard to employment and a driving force for the local economy.
