WHAT IS HYBRID LEARNING?

There is a lot of talk about hybrid working but very little about hybrid learning. Is it just learning in a hybrid working context, or could it be more?

There is no one definition of hybrid working, which is adding to the confusion. Most discussions focus on locations (office or home) or timing (synchronous or asynchronous) but this is too binary.

To make the most of hybrid, we need to step back a little and get clear about what the real problem is, what the real opportunity is...

The real problem and opportunity of hybrid working is actually

about enhancing productivity, engagement, connection, and

sustainability at individual, team and organizational levels.

The same is true for hybrid learning!

Hybrid working is about making the best use of the times and spaces available to achieve the work outcomes needed.

Hybrid learning is about making the best use of times, spaces, and opportunities to grow skills and capabilities.

True hybrid working is driven by real hybrid learning. Done well, hybrid can be agile, inclusive, and future-focused. Done badly, it will be frustrating, isolating, and clunky.
