Goal Setting What Else?

1. Positive Write your objective in a positive way, avoiding negative language. e.g. I will be healthy rather than I want to lose weight. This will help your mind to guide you towards your goal. Your mind works best when it has clear images to go on. Then it knows how precisely to assess progress towards the goal and can make the mid-course corrections needed to stay on track. Vague and general wishes do not arm the mind with the necessary navigational data.

2. Achievement Ask yourself - How will you know you have got your outcome? What will you see, hear and feel? For example, a manager who wanted to improve his presentation said he knows he has achieved his goal if he: Feels confident, alert and responsive from start to finish. Hears positive comments from other people Sees self smiling and relaxed after a successful presentation.

For each objective related to work or home life, follow the five steps.
