in Barcelona, SUEZ is going electric with the city authorities
Aïgues de Barcelona, a public-private company set up by SUEZ and the city authorities that is tasked with distributing water in the Catalan capital, has converted its entire fleet of 132 vehicles to electricity in an effort to contribute to the city s plans to promote sustainable mobility and reduce its carbon footprint.
The company has installed more than 90 recharging points in its buildings and infrastructures.
All the vehicles are fuelled by certified renewable energy, so that its fleet is carbon neutral.
This initiative has enabled Aïgues de Barcelona to slash its annual diesel consumption by about 37,845 litres and its greenhouse gas emissions by 105.37 tonnes per year.
