UCD®, modular water treatment units that meet the needs of the populations in emerging countries
The drinking water sector in emerging countries is suffering from a lack of investment, while facing the increased concentration of the population in towns and cities. SUEZ has risen to this challenge by developing the Unités Compactes Degrémont®, or UCD®, which offer a rapid response to populations needs for drinking water. Already deployed on every continent, they are used to quickly make up for shortage of drinking water, both in capital cities and in more rural conurbations.
The compact and standard (for shorter delivery lead times and easier installation in both dense and isolated sites) units stand out by their modularity and flexibility, which enable them to meet different needs and be moved or extended. They are reliable, secure and easy to use, producing a quality of water equal to European standards.
Over the last 25 years, SUEZ has installed more than 170 units worldwide that produce more than 850,000 m3/day.
