zero CO2 discharges from Renault s manufacturing site in Tangiers
Renault has called on SUEZ to globally manage industrial waste on its site in Tangiers.
By using biomass as fuel, the site has become the first automotive production plant in the world to produce zero CO2 emissions.
The wood from the pallets used to package certain parts of the cars is used to fuel the site boiler, which supplies the hot water that heats the painting furnaces, amongst others.
A perfect illustration of how the circular economy works.
Using waste wood to meet the plant s needs for heat also reduces its exposure to the price variations of fossil fuels.
